What Do Four Men Know About Brains AND Beauty, Apparently A Lot!

How many times have you’ve been warned by your friends & family to never, ever, ever… take your eyes off your drink.

I’m Careful, that’s what they said too.

One minute a girl will be catching up with her girlfriends and having a good time, only for it to end in a life-shattering nightmare. Some guy spiked her drink with a date rape drug, before whisking her away to some strange location and violating her rights.

I have never been one for drinking to excess (I have a low tolerance for alcohol) and allowing my‘sensible’ guard down, it simply isn’t worth the risk. And take it from me,having watched too many episodes of America’s Most Wanted and Forensic Files that guard ain’t coming down anytime soon. If anything, it’s made me into a mini-detective.So, when I heard that four North Carolina State University students had designed a rape-preventative manicure – I knew it was worth further investigating.

“The First Company Empowering Women to Prevent Sexual Assault.”

Date rape drugs are drugs used to assist in asexual assault, which is frankly, intercourse without consent. According to statistics, a woman in the US becomes a rape victim every two minutes, and according to a report by the Department of Justice, titled ‘Acquaintance Rape Of College Students’, 16-24 year old’s are four times more likely than other ages to be raped.

These shocking statistics are crying out for a preventative measure that will save the next girl from being raped. And, that is why the guys at Undercover Colors have created a nail polish that can detect whether a date rape drug has been put in your drink.

The most commonly used “Club Drugs” are Rohypnol, Ketamine, also called Special K. and MDMA “Ecstasy”. These drugs may come as pills, liquids, or powders and when digested diminish your faculties, preventing any defense possible to rape. Date rape drugs can also cause seizures and even death.

When under the influence of one of these drugs, girls and women can appear to be extremely drunk and the easiest way for a predator to get them on their own is to simply use the guise that their girlfriend or sister exceeded her limit and they’re,quite honorable, taking them home. And, it’s at this point that her feminine rights are compromised.

The boys at NCSU have raised money to research and develop the product and even though it has yet to be released to the open market, Undercover Colors nail polish works like this: If you leave your drink unattended or are gifted a shot, you can dip your finger nail into the glass and it will change color should a foreign substance be detected. Truly genius!

You will then know that your drink has been contaminated with a date rape drug and frees you up to ensure you get help, notify the owner of the establishment,   report it to authorities and exit safely.

The nail polish itself is completely clear. You can wear it over the top of your normal polish, which is great. You cannot even tell that you are wearing it.

Undercover Colors claim that each application of the date rape nail polish will provide ten tests. Ten tests can check ten different drinks.

Another use is if you see that one of your friends is struggling and suspect that her drink may have been spiked, you will be able to test her drink too enabling you to seek aid for assistance.

Side Note: should the horrendous occasion occur where you or your friend’s drink has been spiked,it’s really important that you call 911 and get to an emergency room immediately. Trust your gut and listen to your body.

I support Undercover Colors 1001% and their success to bring this product to market ASAP. If you’d like to learn more please visit their Facebook page or UndercoverColors.com.

It’s really important to note that Undercover Colors nail polish can’t physically prevent rape or any kind of sexual assault. Often they’re girls who, by their own admission, have too many cocktails and aren’t aware of what’s going on. And, that’s without having had their drink meddled with by a perpetrator.

Girl’s Night Out Bring It On

I’m all for having a good time and would never ask a young woman to refrain from fun. Just remember,if you’re over 21 and wish to indulge with cocktails, party in public places, surrounded by trusting friends (be mindful of casual acquaintances), do not accept drinks from other, sharing a cocktail is off limits, drink in moderation and not to excess and NEVER EVER leave your drink unattended.

Cheers To Being Safe!
