Stuff Your Face Skinny With Foods That Will Make You A Skinny Minny!

In a serious conversation about looking super hot, my friend confessed that she had a condition that prevented her from getting skinny. It was called being hungry . After rolling my eyes at her, I let her in on a secret. It’s not about what you don’t eat (okay, well obviously it is to an extent, but not ONLY that), and more so about what you do eat. Filling your body with delicious, nutritious foods will not only make you healthier,but will actually slim you down as well. Eating MORE and having a banging body sounds like a job for a genie right? Well,fill up your plate with the right items and your wish is my command.

When my roommate came in on the conversation, he backed me up by telling my friend how I am“always eating”. This past year I lost nearly 10 pounds and probably ate more often than I ever had before . And although I probably shouldn’t admit this, I never ever worked out. And if I did, it wasn’t intentional. Like walking the Beverly Center Mall from top to bottom, or sprinting across the parking lotto the bank before it closed. The trick is, eating MORE of the RIGHT things. For the majority of the year, my diet consisted of vegetables, fruit, grains, nuts, lentils and seeds and then eventually I added in seafood, and a few months’ later chicken and eggs. Within each category, there are an abundant amount of delectable options. Playing with your choices keeps things fresh, new and never mundane.

We all know how to keep our meals pretty healthy unless we’ve been living under a rock our whole life. (Read above for key foods). Although, whatever is under a rock is probably really natural and organic and full of nutrients, but we live in the real world here. So lets get to what we are REALLY talking about… SNACKS!  The stuff in between the meals . Our favorite munchy before and after lunchy. The easy to pop in our mouth, lasts forever, can stuff our face all day, keeps us occupied and entertained without feeling fat food. So here are a few of my favorites that you can eat until puke without gaining a pound…

Fruit: Grapes . (Pop some sample ones in your mouth at the grocery store to pick the best bunch.)

Vegetable: Baby carrots . Dunk them in your favorite unsweetened humus!

Nuts: My newest obsession is truffle almonds . They just got them at Starbucks too! But Brazilian nuts will always have my heart.

Miscellaneous: Popcorn . Air-popped or with coconut oil. Sprinkle on some pink Himalayan sea salt, some herbs or cinnamon.

Keep your snacks in the key categories mentioned above and you can never go wrong. Eat until your heart is content without a wisp of worry. Low caloric, packed with nutrients,and belly filling yumminess. By being full off of the right things, you leave no room for the other junk. Think simple. Eat simple. And enjoy your itsy bitsy bikini bod all year around.
